The company TEMAC was established in 1917 in the village Zverinek, which is situated 40 km
east of Prague. The beginning of the production of gaskets and seals is dated from 1919. In 1928
the company was renamed "ASBESTOS a.s." and expanded its production range to include friction
materials and rubber products. The period of the national and state operated companies was ended in
1993, when the company was privatised by the "Dutch holding DNI B.V." In 1994 the new company was
registered with the name TEMAC, which marked the begining of its non-asbestos production program.
In 1997 the company was incorporated into the ROYAL ECONOSTO GROUP with their headquarters in
Rotterdam, which has branches in countries all over the world, 1000 employees and its turnover is
more than 200 mil EUR.
The core of Temac´s product range is gaskets and seals used mainly in the fields of heavy and
qualification chemistry, petrochemical industry, power engineering, automotive industry and many
others. Temac a.s. produces spiral wound gaskets, asbestos and non-asbestos jointings, gland
packings, flexible lip seals, manhole gaskets, packing rings, PTFE products, static packings and
laggings, industrial textiles, millboards, metal jacketed gaskets, camprofiles, cut gaskets,
composite hoses and many other various industrial and automotive gaskets. Temac a.s. does its own
research and development specialised in laboratory testing for new sealing materials. Examples of
succesful R&D projects completed by Temac a.s. include the production of non-asbestos sheets
based on aramid fibres, special engine gaskets for the automotive industry and the transfer of the
spiral wound gasket, metal jacketed gaskets and camprofiles production from the parent company in
the Netherlands.
Temac´s high product quality level is backed by the certification of its quality system in
accordance with the international standards ISO 9001:2000 ( business-sales-research), ISO / TS
16949:2000 for automotive industry and also a series of other specific and territorial
certificates( e.g. nuclear industry, UDT in Poland etc.) Company Temac, a.s. is certified to ISO
14001.
